These crowns are entirely cast in a metal alloy, including Non-Precious, Semi-Precious, High-Precious and Captek. Metal crowns rarely chip or break, last the longest in terms of wear down. Compared with other crown types, less tooth structure need to be removed with metal crowns, and tooth wear to opposing is kept to a minimum. They can also withstand biting and chewing forces. Metal crowns and bridges are a good choice for out-of-sight back teeth (molars, sometimes premolars).
